Kaleb Van Adelrik:
Certified Assistance Dog
Johnathan en Kaleb: Partners for live.
Hello
people, my name is JOHNATHAN and I live in the small coastal town of Jacksonville
on the east coast of North Carolina in the USA. I am mobility as well as hearing
impaired. I use a cane or wheelchair to get around and have poor coordination.
Service dogs, like Kaleb, are trained to assist people with mobility impairments.
As a service dog he will be trained to pick things up, open and close doors,
turn on lights, pull me in the wheelchair or help me walk, get help in an emergency
and much more. As a hearing dog he will be trained to alert me to sounds such
as an alarm clock, ringing phone, and smoke alarm. Both the service and hearing
dog fall under the assistance dog label.
Kaleb
is a full blooded German Shepherd Dog (dog is part of
the formal name ). He was imported from the Netherlands. He is doing great, I own him now and
he is training with Judi Mullen a close friend of Ed Miller. Kaleb will be
my partner for life when he finishes training. He is a really special dog,
and I am very thankful for him. Kaleb has a great attitude, nothing much
phases him and he just kind of goes through the world making friends. He
is very affectionate and loves being with people.
